Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights
The holiday season is here and if you are looking to add something to do to add to your holiday traditions list then you HAVE TO visit the Umqua Valley Festival of Lights. We decided to take a quick trip up to Roseburg from Medford to check it out and we are so happy that we did!
For $10 a car we were able to drive through, viewing over 90 beautiful light displays. Not only did we get to checkout the beautiful lights but the Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights is home to the World's Largest Nutcracker which has been recognized by Guinness World Records.
As we drove around exploring the festival, my personal favorite was the carousel, and the toy solider with rocking horse, that actually rocked. Ilias liked the Grinch who popped in and out so quickly I couldn't get a picture and Olivia's favorite was the mermaid, of course!
We were able to drive through as many times as we wanted so that we could catch all of the details we missed the first time. Ilias decided to make a game of counting all of the elves that were hidden throughout the park, popping up in random places when you would least expect them.
We only drove through twice, because our then three year old was getting antsy and hungry. Our only regret is that we didn't make it to see the Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights sooner.
The Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights opens November 19th and runs through New Years Day for the 2023 season. Between November 30th and December 24th you can visit their Holiday Village where you can enjoy cider, hot chocolate and baked treats.
They are located at River Forks Park in Roseburg. There are signs posted everywhere so it is very easy to find.
We are sure that you and your family are going to be just enchanted as we were and you are going to want to go back year after year!
Happy Holidays!
