Hispanic Heritage Celebration in Central Point

A vibrant and free event on Friday, September 20th. In addition to informative booths from various organizations, enjoy a range of activities including delicious food trucks, live musical performances by Jovita Enríquez (Mariachi music), Ballet Folklórico Ritmo Alegre, DJ Junior and his light robot, and the local Spanish rock band Combustión! There will be bounce houses, loteria games, prizes, and much more. The party will take place at Twin Creeks Park from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and traditional attire and don’t miss out on this exciting celebration!

Scarecrow and Harvest Festival at Hanley Farm

Make a scarecrow to protect your family from the “witches, ghosties, and

ghoulies” who prowl your fields and gardens Halloween Night! Scarecrow-making

Kits will be available for $20 ($15 for SOHS Members) and includes everything

you’ll need to make a full-size, old-fashioned, straw-stuffed scarecrow. You can take

your finished scarecrow home OR enter it in the Farm’s annual “People’s Choice”

scarecrow contest. If you leave your scarecrow for the competition, you may pick it

up on Sunday at 3pm.

There’s a special category of “Oregon History” scarecrows this year. Make a

scarecrow that represents a character from Oregon History and enter it in the

“Director’s Feature Award” contest. Choose a historical character and dress your

scarecrow in appropriate clothing. You’ll need to bring your own outfits and

accessories for this contest. Special prizes will be awarded for these special

scarecrows!

Enjoy the many other family-fun activities, including: pumpkin painting, apple

bobbing, cider-making, children’s games, and much, much more!

Tour the historic Hanley House, featuring Southern Oregon Historical Society’s

quilt display. Learn about the Hanley family, house, and farm. Donations for house

tours will be greatly appreciated!

In addition to the Hanley House quilt display, McKee Bridge Historical Society

quilts be on display in the shade of one of the Farm’s new pop-up tents!

AND - Take a family photo with Southern Oregon Historical Society’s 1946 Fire

Oregon Honey and Mead Festival

There will be art exhibits, native plant education and sales with Jackson County Master Gardeners and Cornucopia Acres, talks, honey sampling, honey for purchase, kids' activities and more. Edenvale chefs will prepare foods for purchase and the Edenvale Tasting Room will also be open and serving dishes such as Goat Cheese and Hot Honey, Sous Vide Beef, Charcuterie or Fruit Boards and soft drinks or adult beverages.

The Cascade Girl Organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit the mission of which is to educate people about food system pollinators of the Cascade region and their impact on planetary survival via science, culture and the arts. The Festival is a fundraiser for the Cascade Girl Organization's programs for kids and for veterans.

At it's heart, the Oregon Honey & Mead Festival is a celebration of apiculture and agriculture, toasting the work of all farmers and agricultural pollinators! Tickets are available for preorder and at the door, suggested donation, $20 per adult. Kids attend free.

Fort Vannoy Farms Fall Festival is a family tradition. The Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch offers fun activities for the whole family. Come on out to the farm and remember the simpler times with your family. There is a spectacular new 8-acre corn maze design every year. Planting field corn stalks that grow as tall as 12 to 14 feet in height, the maze is sculpted before it even reaches six inches tall.

 

Pumpkin Patch

Visitors to the Fall Festival enjoy the beautiful 8-acre Pumpkin Patch and can choose to pick the perfect pumpkin for carving or for decorating or for making delicious pie. There are a variety of shapes and sizes, and even a variety of colors to suit every pumpkin personality!

 

Corn Maze Activities

Other events and activities at the Fall Festival include a Cow Train Ride, The Pumpkin Chunker, Apple Cannon, Pumpkin Painting, Petting Zoo, Hayrides, and more.  The Corn Maze along with our 23-acre Pumpkin Patch is the place to be in Southern Oregon every day in October. Remember, as the crisp autumn air begins to cool the Rogue Valley down, the Maze Craze begins, and the Pumpkins are ripe for picking! Come visit Oregon’s Best Corn Maze!

23 Screams presents The Fort Vannoy Farms Haunted Corn Maze!  They put on a full production of lights, frights, themed cornstalk rooms, and amazing costumes for an unforgettably scary night.   23 Screams takes pride in leaving the haunted petrified. Nineteen rooms of horror from classic scares such as Clowns with Chainsaws to Vampires to Zombies, not to mention sound effects coming from the Haunted Maze. Not recommended for young children.

 

This outdoor event is available through timed ticket purchases. Weather may create muddy fields and paths at night. The Haunted Maze runs rain (within reason) or shine, please dress appropriately. Bring a warm coat and wear comfortable shoes with traction preferred.  Warm beverages and tasty treats are available at the Farm Stand.

The Bear Creek Salmon Festival is returning to North Mountain Park! After a long hiatus due to the pandemic Ashland Parks and Recreation is hosting the 16th Bear Creek Salmon Festival on Saturday October 1st from 11am to 4pm. 

If you’ve missed this joyous community event as much as we have come celebrate our watershed with a day of learning music crafts and culture.

This free event is a fun-filled day for the whole family. Learn all about wildlife habitat and how we can all become better stewards of our watershed. Local experts will be on-hand with outdoor activities for all ages including interactive exhibits kids’ activities live animals salmon education Native American demonstrations spin-casting and storytelling. Enjoy a lineup of outdoor musical entertainment or grab a delicious lunch from Fatsos Cheketos. (Please help us make this a Zero Waste event by bringing a reusable water bottle or cup.)

Come celebrate growing season with a self-guided tour of the Applegate Valley Wine Country. Spring is the perfect time to visit our 17 tasting rooms. The winegrapes have been picked, pressed, and barreled, and the winemakers have time to chat.

Pick your starting location, and let yourself be lured from one winery to the next. Each will offer an appetizer and wine for tasting. You’ll even get to meet some of the latest releases! Uncorked is a great opportunity to stock up on wine for upcoming holiday gifts, or parties.

Tickets are $59 each and include a commemorative Wine Trail wine glass.

Bonus: Designated drivers don’t need to purchase a ticket and may sample the food. The event will conclude at 4pm, however many tasting rooms will remain open until 5pm.

Please Note – In an effort to conserve natural resources no tickets are mailed. You have your purchase confirmation as a receipt. Simply arrive at the location you’ve chosen, your name will be on a list to check in and start your tour. This is a two-day outdoor music festival held down at Fort Umpqua with dry camping available in the upper recreation field. The event features multiple bands, food trucks, products from local wineries & breweries, and vendors with eco-friendly, handmade, and wellness items.  

The event theme is “Music is Medicine,” and a portion of the proceeds benefit ECEC’s new Wellness Initiative to reduce high levels of chronic illness in this Medically Underserved Area through nutrition and lifestyle classes, support groups, public benefit application assistance, telehealth access, and preventative health services.

Hours:

Workshops and jam sessions from 12 pm to 10 pm down at The Fort.

Phoenix Flower Festival is coming to the Phoenix Downtown area. The 99 will be decorated from ScrappyCraft shop to the Industrial Studios; with plenty of fun activities at the Grange, 312 n. Main, Phoodery and community businesses!
We have music, dancing, local vendors, crafts for kids, and delicious food options. We will also have Flowers of Remembrance: An Almeda Fire Display to raise funds for the Grange to continue to have the touching art on the side of our building.

Join us at the Rogue River Preserve for a very special and spooky Open Lands Day!

The preserve includes two miles of riverfront along the Rogue River, a large floodplain forest, and oak woodlands with meadows. It is only open to the public during special events, work parties, and youth education programs. So, come and take advantage of this special opportunity and explore the trails at your own pace, attend a guided hike, bring a picnic lunch or thermos of tea to enjoy by the river, or all three.

To limit crowding on the trails, registration is free and required for hikes or self-guided exploration for the day. Guided hike participants are welcome to explore the property before or after their hike slot.

10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Self-Guided Explorations

Check out field guides, binoculars, and other gear from our lending library and chat with docents along the trail to learn as you explore. (30 Visitors)

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Lichen Hike

Discover the cryptic lichens that live on trees, rocks, and soil with lichenologist, Steve Sheehy. Learn how to identify some of the 57 liches that have been described on the preserve. (15 Hikers)

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Cryptozoology Hike "Sassy with Sasquatch"

Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch! Let’s go for a walk to the Fairy Forest and discuss the elusive creatures of the Pacific Northwest. This hike will be guided by Rebekah Bergkoetter, Land Steward at SOLC. (15 Hikers)

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Cryptozoology Hike "Ness Around and Find Out"

Learn about the monster of Loch Ness while walking around the vernal pool-mounded prairies. Perhaps a distant cousin will be spotted... This hike will be guided by Rebekah Bergkoetter, Land Steward at SOLC. (15 Hikers)

Since our inaugural event in 2014 The Day of the Dead Race & Celebration has attracted hundreds of runners from all over the country and with our virtual option we have had runners run from all over the world!
