Come to Talent, Oregon for our Thanksgiving run! We will be hosting a food drive for the SOU food bank and a portion of the proceeds will go to SOR Shoes for Student Runners Program which provides shoes to Jr. High and High School athletes who would like to participate in Cross Country and Track but cannot afford proper running shoes.

When - November 28, 2024

Free Turkey Dash Kids Run( 8 and Under)7:45AM| 8 Mile Run 8AM| 5k Run/Walk 8:15AM| 2 Mile Family Run/Walk 8:30AM $15 for members| $20 for non members| Youth 18 and Under are free. Family Pricing available for this event, this is for families and families with extended family in town for the holidays, only.  

Where - Cummins 300 W Valley View Rd, Talent, Oregon 97540

Packet Pick Up and Registration - November 27th from 3-8pm at Legend Cider Co. Talent Taphouse, 245 W Valley View, Talent, Oregon 97540. Packet pick up is also available from 6:45-7:45am on the day of the race. NO DAY OF REGISTRATION will be offered. 

Participants will receive a custom race bib and finishers medal. No age group awards.

NO DOGS, BIKES, SKATEBOARDS OR SKATES PERMITTED.

*Races are on public roads and trails that ARE NOT closed to cars, pedestrian or cyclist.  Please use caution while on public roadways and paths.

Think Holiday decor and gift shopping collide! We'll have makers, crafters, holiday decor, and home decor. Clothing, gifts, and more. Spruce up your trimmings and get a jump on holiday shopping, all while supporting local businesses. Hobby Lobby eat your heart out!

And we'll do it Barnstormer's style, with local food trucks and drinks while you shop, some music and some local charity support for the holidays (more info to come!)

At the new Rogue X Complex, in Medford.

Walk and Roll - Parade of Superheroes

Walk 'N Roll Parade of Superheroes

Come dressed as your favorite superhero and walk, roll, skip, or bike in our parade at Twin Creeks Park! Parade route is approximately 1 mile.

There will be a costume contest, prizes, games, food trucks, and a decoration station to decorate any wheelchairs, wagons, or bikes.

Fun starts at 10am, parade starts at 11am.
Costume contest and raffle winners announced after the parade.

Registration is $25 per family, all proceeds benefit Asante pediatric infusion services.

Scarecrow and Harvest Festival at Hanley Farm

Make a scarecrow to protect your family from the “witches, ghosties, and

ghoulies” who prowl your fields and gardens Halloween Night! Scarecrow-making

Kits will be available for $20 ($15 for SOHS Members) and includes everything

you’ll need to make a full-size, old-fashioned, straw-stuffed scarecrow. You can take

your finished scarecrow home OR enter it in the Farm’s annual “People’s Choice”

scarecrow contest. If you leave your scarecrow for the competition, you may pick it

up on Sunday at 3pm.

There’s a special category of “Oregon History” scarecrows this year. Make a

scarecrow that represents a character from Oregon History and enter it in the

“Director’s Feature Award” contest. Choose a historical character and dress your

scarecrow in appropriate clothing. You’ll need to bring your own outfits and

accessories for this contest. Special prizes will be awarded for these special

scarecrows!

Enjoy the many other family-fun activities, including: pumpkin painting, apple

bobbing, cider-making, children’s games, and much, much more!

Tour the historic Hanley House, featuring Southern Oregon Historical Society’s

quilt display. Learn about the Hanley family, house, and farm. Donations for house

tours will be greatly appreciated!

In addition to the Hanley House quilt display, McKee Bridge Historical Society

quilts be on display in the shade of one of the Farm’s new pop-up tents!

AND - Take a family photo with Southern Oregon Historical Society’s 1946 Fire

Engine! Take self-guides tours of Hanley Farm’s gardens and grounds!

Bear Creek Stewardship Day

Participate in National Clean-up Day! with the Bear Creek Stewards! All community members are encouraged to join in on the efforts to protect Bear Creek!

Clean-up gear is available by SOLVE and their local partners at the registration/check-in booths. However, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own supplies, including gloves and tools.

Battle of the Food Trucks in Central Point

The 3rd annual Battle of the Food Trucks is looking for the best of Southern Oregon food trucks and carts. The rules are easy:

* $300 Vendor Application Fee
* Must have valid Jackson County Health permits
* Must have proof of liability insurance and list City of Central Point on certificate
* Vendors must provide at $5 sample item and submit their full menu before the event.
* Vendors must be able to stay 11am-5pm for the event.
* Each vendor has the option of participating in the judged event with cash and prizes awarded to 1st-3rd and People's Choice Award
