Scarecrow and Harvest Festival at Hanley Farm

Make a scarecrow to protect your family from the “witches, ghosties, and

ghoulies” who prowl your fields and gardens Halloween Night! Scarecrow-making

Kits will be available for $20 ($15 for SOHS Members) and includes everything

you’ll need to make a full-size, old-fashioned, straw-stuffed scarecrow. You can take

your finished scarecrow home OR enter it in the Farm’s annual “People’s Choice”

scarecrow contest. If you leave your scarecrow for the competition, you may pick it

up on Sunday at 3pm.

There’s a special category of “Oregon History” scarecrows this year. Make a

scarecrow that represents a character from Oregon History and enter it in the

“Director’s Feature Award” contest. Choose a historical character and dress your

scarecrow in appropriate clothing. You’ll need to bring your own outfits and

accessories for this contest. Special prizes will be awarded for these special

scarecrows!

bobbing, cider-making, children’s games, and much, much more!
