Smudge Pot Stroll

April 12th, 2024 5 to 9pm

Opening night of the Pear Blossom Festival is a special evening in downtown Medford. 350 tickets will be sold for a walking and tasting tour around downtown Medford. With each ticket, you will receive a wine glass and a pass to sample a taste of specially prepared pear and local food themed items. With 13-15 downtown restaurants participating, the ticket holders will stroll with glass in hand, to sample the specialty creation of each chef. The stroll begins at 5pm and concludes at 9pm. With all that great food, stretching the legs, walking the downtown, listening to music at the Pear Blossom stage, it will be THE evening event of the year for downtown.

Call 541-840-PEAR for more information. The Stroll will begin at Commons Amphitheater on 4th Street.

2025 Boatnik in Grants Pass


Boatnik is an annual festival held in Riverside Park in Grants Pass, Oregon over Memorial Day Weekend for more than 60 years. There is no admission to attend Boatnik and there are many activities and shows for all ages. There are additional activities available for purchase including the Davis Shows Carnival, concert, and Boatnik Brewfest. The best part...ALL of the proceeds from the event are donated throughout the year to children and youth-based organizations in Josephine


The activities start Thursday evening with the Davis Shows Carnival featuring food, rides, games and family fun. The excitement continues Friday with the concert, a spectacular fireworks display on the river, midway vendors, and the carnival. Saturday morning features the well-known Boatnik parade that travels through downtown Grants Pass and ends at Riverside Park. Throughout the weekend the festivities continue in the park where there are a whirlwind of activities that include: Sprint and Drag boat racing, carnival rides, arts and crafts, children's activities, Bingo, food vendors, Monday Sundaes, the Boatnik Brewfest, the Chevy Drive It Home Golf Shoot Out and a second night of patriotic fireworks. Monday is the highlight of Boatnik featuring the World Famous Tom Rice Memorial White Water Hydroplane Race, and the Memorial Day Service including a jet flyover.

Thousands of locals and visitors from around the world come to share the tradition and unique experience of Boatnik.County!

Course Description:  Both starts at Del Rio Vineyards - 5k Out and back.  10K Out and through downtown Gold Hill, onto Lampman Rd and loops back around to Del Rio.  Both courses are flat and fast!

Race Fees:  Early Registration: All Races $20 for SOR Members | $25 for Non-Members | 18 and under  run for free through our RunFree Youth Program 

Packet Pick-up:  Day of from 7-7:45am

Day of Registration:  $30 for members and non-members | 18 and under Free

Awards:  Ribbons for 1st-3rd in individual age groups.

Highland Games are events held throughout the year in Scotland and other countries as a way of celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture and heritage, especially that of the Scottish Highlands. Certain aspects of the games are so well known as to have become emblematic of Scotland, such as the bagpipes, the kilt, and the heavy events, especially the caber toss. While centered on competitions in piping and drumming, dancing, and Scottish heavy athletics, the games also include entertainment and exhibits related to other aspects of Scottish and Gaelic culture

May Day is an ancient holiday that celebrates the return of Spring. It is celebrated throughout the Northern Hemisphere and is a public holiday in many countries with festivals and May Pole dancing.

The Charleston community invites seafood lovers to come celebrate fresh and delicious Coos Bay oysters at the 15th Annual Charleston “Ahh Shucks!” Oyster Feed. The celebration is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) Dining Hall.

Local Oysters from: Clausen Oyster Co., Coos Bay Oyster Co., North Bend Oyster Co., Qualman Oyster Farms, and Pacific Seafood Oysters.
