ONE WEEKEND IN SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco is one of those places that holds a special place in our hearts. When Gary and I first got married, we lived on the East Bay in Fremont for two years, so we would often head into San Francisco to hangout with our friends to soak in the culture, going to concerts, and of course to eat all the good food. Our Ilias turned sixteen this year so we wanted to do something special to celebrate so we gave him a choice of San Francisco, California or Portland, Oregon. He chose San Francisco because Gary’s brother lives an hour south and they would be able to join us! We had a blast and I wanted to share our full weekend’s itinerary with you!

For Friday and Saturday we hotel prices were pretty high IN San Francisco so we decided to get an AirBNB in Sausalito. It’s a cute little town full of restaurants and it is literally right across the Golden Gate Bridge. Nearby is also the Muir Woods National Monument. We didn’t get out to explore there but we definitely want to go back!

If you are travelling from the Rogue Valley, Sausalito is a six hour drive. We left at nine am and missed all of the travel traffic going towards San Francisco. We got there just in time to check in and go to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.
