Kids Day is the second Saturday of every month. This is a special day that the museum sets aside to expose children to the world of earth sciences, fossils, dinosaurs, and other really cool things we know they would like.
Thanks to our community partners, there are new give aways each month, beginning at 10:30am and continuing through 3:30pm.
There is a rockyard for rockhounding with great prices on specimen collecting. We have a large sluice to pan for gem stones. Gem Stone Panning Bags are $1 off on Kids Day. All kids apparel is 10% off. And don’t forget to fill out the free kids raffle after touring the museum.

Free Family Days at the Schneider Museum of Art feature hands on art activities inside the gallery.
On Free Fishing Weekends, you don’t need a license to fish, crab or clam anywhere in Oregon.
That’s no license, no tag, no endorsement needed.
The first weekend in June is Oregon’s traditional Free Fishing Weekend. In the past, ODFW and its partners have sponsored several free fishing events throughout the state.
In the meantime, we've pulled together everything you'll need to plan your own DIY free fishing day adventure.

For their safety, children must be at least 42 inches (107 cm) tall to take a tour.
Please be aware that the cave tour is physically demanding. It requires the ability to walk and stoop through narrow, twisting passages, including an 88-foot (27m) passageway with ceilings as low as 45 inches (114 cm), and the ability to ascend and descend over 500 steps, many of them steep, uneven and/or without handrails.
DO NOT wear or bring clothes, shoes or other items used in a cave, mine, or other bat habitat. Spores carried on personal items spread white-nose syndrome, a deadly disease that kills bats.
